In Part II of this blog series, we discussed the requirement to update to Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.7 or later.
In this article, we’ll look at another key readiness milestone: migrating from Oracle BI Publisher to Oracle Analytics Publisher.
Migrate to Oracle Analytics Publisher
Oracle Analytics Publisher replaces Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) Publisher 10g as the embedded reporting engine for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2. Oracle Analytics Publisher is currently an optional feature certified with the Oracle E-Business Suite Classic Technology Stack.
Oracle Analytics Publisher 7.6.1 v4 is the minimum required version for the Next Gen Tech Stack. If you’re using Oracle BI Publisher with the Classic Technology Stack, you must complete your migration to Oracle Analytics Publisher 7.6.1 v4 before updating to the Next Gen Tech Stack.
Plan Your Migration to Oracle Analytics Publisher
As you plan your migration to Oracle Analytics Publisher, consider the following:
- Review the Oracle Analytics Publisher migration documentation.
- Verify that your environment meets all prerequisites.
- Identify the Oracle BI Publisher reports and templates, including any custom reports and templates, used in your environment.
- Re-generate layout templates.
- Develop a testing strategy to validate report output after the migration.
Planning your migration early helps ensure you’re ready to update to the Next Gen Tech Stack when it becomes available.
