We are pleased to announce the certification of Oracle Analytics Publisher 7.6.1 v4 with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Release 12.2. We previously announced that Oracle Analytics Publisher is the replacement for Oracle BI Publisher as the embedded reporting engine for Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2.

Oracle Analytics Publisher with EBS 12.2

We recommend that if you have not already done so, you should migrate from BI Publisher 10g to its successor Oracle Analytics Publisher 7.6.1 v4 as soon as possible.

Oracle Analytics Publisher with EBS 12.2 offers new features such as Excel Workbooks (.xlsx) output format, the default XML-based file format for Excel 2007 and later.

Custom Report Development

In general, Oracle Analytics Publisher and its predecessor Oracle BI Publisher offer the same feature set. It is however advised to validate custom reports developed for Oracle BI Publisher with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 after enabling Oracle Analytics Publisher.

You should use the latest Oracle Analytics Publisher Desktop when creating or updating Oracle Analytics Publisher reports. Oracle Analytics Publisher Desktop consists of client-side tools to assist in the design and testing of layout templates for EBS Releases 12.2 and 12.1. These layout templates are run by Oracle Analytics Publisher or Oracle BI Publisher on the Oracle E-Business Suite application tier.

Elke Phelps

Product Management Director

Elke is a Product Manager in the Oracle E-Business Suite Applications Technology Group. She joined Oracle in 2011 after having been an Oracle customer and Oracle Technologist (Oracle Database Administrator, Oracle Applications DBA, Technical Architect and Technical Manager of an Oracle Applications DBA Team) since 1993. As part of the Oracle E-Business Suite Applications Technology Product Management Team, her scope of responsibility includes security, database certifications and advanced architectures for on-premises and Oracle Cloud deployments. She is a frequent contributor and editor of the Oracle E-Business Suite Technology Blog. Elke is the lead author of the Oracle Applications DBA Field Guide (Apress 2006) and Oracle R12 Applications DBA Field Guide (Coqui Tech and Press 2010). Elke is also the founder of the Oracle Applications User Group (OAUG) E-Business Suite Applications Technology Special Interest Group (SIG) and served as President of the SIG from February 2005 - August 2011. Elke has been a speaker at the Oracle OpenWorld and Collaborate conferences since 2004. Prior to joining Oracle, Elke was designated an Oracle ACE (2007) and Oracle ACE Director (2009). She received the OAUG Oracle Ambassador of the Year award in 2015. Elke has a Computer Science Degree and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. In her spare time, Elke enjoys traveling especially to Europe, Puerto Rico and the amazing US National Parks. Elke also enjoys hiking, antiquing, gardening and cooking.

Pieter Breugelmans

Senior Principal Software Engineer

Pieter Breugelmans is a Senior Principal Software Engineer in the Oracle E-Business Suite Applications Technology Integration team who joined Oracle in 2001. Pieter started his career with Oracle Belgium where he worked as a Senior Principal Technical Support Engineer, providing software support for both Application Technology as part of the Oracle E-Business Suite (incl. embedded BI Publisher, concurrent processing, etc.) and Oracle BI Publisher Enterprise. Pieter transitioned to the Oracle E-Business Suite Applications Technology Integration team in 2015. As part of the EBS architecture team, Pieter is focused on various EBS technology stack components (incl. Fusion Middleware, BI Publisher, Forms/Reports), client tier technologies (Java, browsers, operating systems), and managing third party technology integrations. Pieter works closely with the ATG Product Management Team and EBS product development teams.
