This FAQ provides an overview of Oracle’s plans for the Next Generation Technology Stack for EBS 12.2. It answers common questions about the update from today’s Classic Technology Stack to later technology stack component releases, including Oracle Fusion Middleware 14c, WebLogic Server 14c, Oracle Forms and Reports 14c, Oracle HTTP Server 14c, and Java 17.

One particularly important point worth highlight here: you will not need to perform an Oracle E-Business Suite upgrade to update to the Next Generation Technology Stack. The update is designed to leverage EBS Release 12.2 Online Patching. This will allow you to update to the Next Generation Technology Stack while your functional users remain online.
