In this article, we’ll look at one of the key readiness milestones: updating to Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.7 or later.

Update to Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.7 or Later

Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.7 became the Error Correction Support (ECS) baseline for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 in July 2024. As a result, Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.7 or later is required to prepare your environment for the Next Gen Tech Stack. If your environment is currently running a release earlier than 12.2.7, planning your update should be a priority.

Stay Current

While Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.7 is the minimum release required, Oracle recommends staying current on the latest available Release Update Pack (RUP). Each RUP includes cumulative application fixes, security updates, certification updates, and compatibility enhancements.

If you’re planning to update to Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.7, consider updating directly to the latest available Release Update Pack rather than updating to the minimum required release. EBS 12.2.15 is currently the latest RUP available.

Planning Your Update to the Latest RUP

As you plan your update, consider the following:

  • Review the Release Notes and the E-Business Suite What’s New web page for your target Release Update Pack.
  • Evaluate any prerequisite patches or updates.
  • Test the application including customizations and integrations.
  • Validate critical business processes after the update.

Updating to Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.7 or later is an important readiness milestone that helps prepare your environment for the Next Gen Tech Stack.
