Terrific news: Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 is now certified with the E-Business Suite Release 11i.
Minimum requirements for this certified configuration are:
- E-Business Suite Release 11i version 11.5.10
- Oracle Developer 6i patchset 18 (6.0.8.27.x) or later
- Oracle Applications Technology 11i.ATG_PF.H Rollup 4 (RUP 4) (patch 4676589)
- JInitiator 1.3.1.x
- Desktop clients running Microsoft Windows XP
- Tabbed Browsing: MS IE 7.0 provides a tabbed browsing facility. When using Oracle E-Business Suite, the Forms window will still open in a separate frame rather than in a new tab. This is intended functionality and is not a bug.
- Discoverer 10G: Discoverer Viewer users should not upgrade to MS IE 7.0 until the resolution of bug 5608740. This bug prevents the listing of drill items under the drill icon.
- Recommended Browsers for Oracle Applications 11i (Metalink Note 285218.1)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 Blocker Toolkit and Oracle Applications (Metalink Note 390582.1)
- Working with Pre-Release Browser Versions

Do you have a plan to certify older release, 11.5.7, 11.5.8, 11.5.9 with IE 7.0?

but We have older version and
We will use Vista next Spring or Summer.
As you know, IE7 is included in Vista.
We cannot upgrade immediately.
Huge budget will be required for many systems.
Premier support of older release is available now.
Older release with IE7 should be certified regarding Support policy, Certification with new third-party products/versions, I think.
Please re-consider and please let me know the reason if older version could not be certifed with technical reason.

Mike,Thanks for your feedback. Our standing challenge is that there's an effectively infinite number of possible combinations to certify... and a finite pool of resources to meet those requirements. For a discussion about some of the implications of these challenges, see my article, The Blue Bridge of Death.With our intense focus on Release 12 and Fusion right now, along with the growing rate of new technology component releases (e.g. Oracle Identity Management 10.1.4), we're being forced to make some difficult decisions around certification priorities. I'll be sure to pass on your comments to our certification teams. We always monitor the volume of customer requests, and if there's sufficient customer demand for other uncertified configurations, certification priorities may be adjusted. According to Note 285218.1, Windows 2000 is not certified (not supported) as of today.
It would be great if you add Windowx XP since I found two different 'requirement' for IE7 from Microsoft web sites.

What I wanted to say was adding 'Windows XP' in your article, maybe along with JInitiator version since it's all client tier info.
The point is to let people know IE 7 on Windows 2000 is not supported.
(neither from Microsoft; I understand IE 7 is not available for Win 2000.)

I misread it as IE7's requirement.
