Oracle Database Release Update 19.5 (October 2019) Now Certified With EBS 12.2

Elke Phelps
Product Management Director

We are pleased to announce that Oracle Database Release Update 19.5 (19.5.0.0.191015) is now certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 on-premises.

Note the following regarding Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 and Oracle Database 19c Release Updates:

  • Database Release Update 19.5 is the succeeding Database Release Update certified with Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2. We do not plan to certify Database Release Update 19.4 with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.
  • You will apply Database Release Update 19.5 to your upgraded 19.3 database. It is not certified or supported to upgrade your Oracle E-Business Suite database directly to Release Update 19.5.

"Database Release Update 19.5 is the first 19c Database Release Update certified with Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2. "

It was announced in September that 19.3 was certified with 12.2.

    Can you clarify?

John, Thanks for the feedback. I'm pleased to hear that our blog is helpful. Please continue to let us know how we are doing.

Oracle's revenue recognition policy prohibits us from disclosing time lines and dates for future certifications and releases.

What I can tell you is that we are working on the pending certification of Oracle Data Guard with EBS 12.2 and Database 19c. This is a high priority project for us.

You may monitor or subscribe to this blog for the latest in certification announcements.

    Regards,
    Elke

Mateen, Hi. I'm doing fine - thanks for asking. I appreciate the feedback on the article and the blog. Please continue to let us know how we are doing.

We continue to work on the pending certifications per the initial blog article announcing EBS 12.2 certification with Database 19c. Note: Your single source of truth for certifications is the certification tab in My Oracle Support.

A separate blog article will be published for the item that is pending certification. For example, we published an update on the platform certifications with the following announcement:
    https://blogs.oracle.com/ebstech/oracle-database-19c-193-now-certified-with-ebs-122-on-ibm-aix-and-hp-itanium

You've listed a few items that were not part of the original announcement as pending support/certification:
    1. Oracle E-Business Suite single sign on with Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (OBIA) - for this item the OBIA team would need to provide an update. Please open a service request with the OBIA support team.
    2. Oracle BI Publisher E-Business Suite Security Model - for this, I will check internally to see what is required or if this is supported out-of-the-box.

Please feel free to email me directly to request updates.

    Regards,
    Elke

    Hello, Elke

    Thank you for great news!!
My customers can upgrade to DB 19c.

    Nikolay,

I'm glad you are happy about the certification and that we have customers that will be upgrading to Database 19c soon.

We have not yet certified EBS 12.2 with a later release of Fusion Middleware. This is currently on our roadmap.

    Hi
Elke, we have couple of clarification we need for ebs 12.2 and database 19c. Those are 5 minute questions but support is struggling to provide an answer for week(s). Is there a chance somebody from your group can take a look? I think that may beneficial for other customers as well and maybe updated in interoperability notes:
3-21712332791 what is correct setting for service_names parameter in 19c e-business pdb
3-21712393131 question on listener for ebs with 19c database
3-21710038888 please, update bde_chk_cbo.sql to include 19c database

Artem, I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues related to the EBS 12.2 and Database 19c documentation. I have reviewed the SRs and will reach out to Oracle Support as required.

Please note that this blog is not the appropriate place to review your SR related issues. If we can improve the documentation, then we will handle this via the SRs and associated documentation bugs. I will send you an email to continue this discussion.

    Regards,
    Elke
