IBM LogoOracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.4) is now certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i and Release 12 on the following Linux on IBM System z operating systems as a ‘database tier only’ platform:

  • Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) version 10 (64-bit)
  • Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) version 11 (64-bit)

Release 12.0 (12.0.4 or higher) and 12.1 (12.1.3 or higher):

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) version 5 (64-bit)
  • Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) version 10 (64-bit)
  • Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) version 11 (64-bit)

Release 11i (11.5.10.2 + ATG PF.H RUP 6 and higher):

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) version 4 (64-bit)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) version 5 (64-bit)
  • Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) version 10 (64-bit)

This is a ‘database tier only’ or ‘split tier configuration’ certification where the application tier must be on a fully certified E-Business Suite platform (see My Oracle Support’s Certification for more information). IBM’s z systems today fully support this example of a mixed platform architecture with distributed Unix and Linux certified application tier servers for customers looking to run Oracle E-Business Suite on System z.
