Whenever oracle waives fee for Extended support, do the customer need to explicitly request for Extended support or it is implicit.

We are planning to upgrade 11.2 this year because of premier support expiration.

Since the extended support fee is waived can we delay it upto next year and run the system as it is, without requesting any renewal for any support.

    Regards,

    Hello, Guest,

Sorry for the delay in responding to this; our blog migration got in the way.

I don't have much visibility into how these waivers work in practice (i.e. how this is recorded against your Customer Support ID). You might wish to ask your Oracle account manager or log a Service Request to get clarification on that.

    Regards,
    Steven

Should we be paying for extended support starting in Jan. if we are on Oracle 11.2?

    Hi,

Can a customer go from premium support to sustaining support without exploring extended support?

    Thanks,

    Shervin.
