What's the Future of Oracle Workflow?

My colleagues in the Workflow group maintain their own blog, with useful technical information about features, troubleshooting techniques, and other tips:

Workflow is an essential part of all E-Business Suite releases.  Standalone versions of Workflow were released until about late-2007. Some of you have wondered what this means for the future of Workflow within the E-Business Suite's technology stack.

Vijay Shanmugam has just posted an excellent article that discusses our strategy for these two release streams.  Workflow within the E-Business Suite is alive and well, with regular updates, enhancements, and new features planned:

HI Steven,

Does Oracle Workflow have an easy to use API that can be accessed from a web programming language such as PHP?

Please explain the requirements for accessing Workflow APIs from web programming languages so I can direct you appropriately. Also, when you say "easy to use", do you mean a Web Service or RESTful service to access Oracle Workflow? As for Workflow APIs are concerned, you could find them in Workflow API Guide which are a mix of PLSQL and Java based APIs.

Thanks
Vijay
