I’m pleased to hear that many of you are heeding our urgent call to retire JInitiator for the native Sun JRE plug-in. Thanks for
your emails and comments about your experiences; these have been very useful in helping us understand the types of stumbling blocks that you’ve been encountering along the way.

Some of you may have encountered issues with mouse navigation in Forms. Others have reported intermittent focus-related issues, which may be compounded by mouse navigation issues.
It appears that the majority of these issues may be related to your Forms 6i patchset level installed in your E-Business Suite Release 11i environment. That said, there may be other configuration-related issues in your environment that are
complicating things further.
Our Support team has put together a useful Note that walks through a diagnostic process for isolating and fixing these issues:
- Diagnosing Forms Mouse Focus Problems using JRE in Release 11i (Note 760250.1)
Naturally, we’re very interested in helping you get through this upgrade process with a minimum of pain. If you hit any problems with your conversion to the native Sun JRE plug-in, please log a formal Service Request via Metalink. Our Support
engineers will work with you on this, and also track the underlying issues to see whether changes to our documentation or patches are warranted. If necessary, we’ll work with Sun to get fixes prioritized for future JRE releases, too.
Which JRE Versions Are Certified With Which Browsers?
This depends on your Windows operating version and the browser that your firm has deployed. Various combinations of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 6 and 7, and Firefox are now certified with JRE 1.5 and 1.6. To review the new
minimum certification levels, see:

- Upgrading Sun J2SE (Native Plug-in) with Oracle Applications 11i for Windows Clients (Metalink Note 290807.1)
