Premier Support Date Changed for Oracle Application Server 10gR2

Steven Chan
Senior Director
Our Fusion Middleware team has changed the Premier Support dates for Oracle Application Server 10gR2 (10.1.2.x).  The new dates are published here: Premier Support for Oracle Application Server 10gR2 was originally slated to end in December 2010.  We discussed the implications for E-Business Suite Release 11i and 12 environments in this article:
Naturally, you're welcome to post comments about these updates here, but my ability to discuss these changes will be extremely constrained.  Any comments that you post here will be forwarded verbatim to the Fusion Middleware group. If you have any questions about the new Premier Support dates for Oracle Application Server 10gR2 (10.1.2.x), your best bet would be to log a formal Service Request via My Oracle Support (formerly Metalink) to get one of our Fusion Middleware Support specialists engaged.  Related Articles

So just to make sure I'm reading that right, from the pdf

    10gR2 10.1.2.x * Jan - Oct 2005 Dec 2011

Meaning that for those users of Discoverer 10.1.2.X, it is now supported thru Dec 2011 instead of the previously announced Dec 2010 ?

    Hi, Jay,

I'm afraid that our Fusion Middleware team has asked that all questions about their support terms be channeled through formal SRs.

Sorry about that -- I'd love to be able help here, but I'm rather constrained.

    Regards,

    Steven

    Hi, Kanti,

Sun support terms are still covered separately; see:

Now if we could just get 'em to address 10gR3....

  • Steven Chan Monday, April 12, 2010

    Hi, Floyd,

Can't hurt to keep those cards and letters coming. Customer feedback may have played a role in the recent change to the 10gR2 support dates. I don't know for certain, since I'm not part of the Fusion Middleware division and was not part of those discussions. I'm just speculating.

If so, it stands to reason that sufficient customer feedback about other support dates may also be useful to help the Fusion Middleware division understand how customers feel about these types of things.

    Regards,

    Steven

I want to know if the OAS has an end support for this year, if it´s for any particular version or it's for all versions?

Where can I find for more information?

Thanks, I'll wait for your answer...

    Jose,

Click on the first link in the article above -- you'll get the Lifetime Support document for Fusion Middleware products. That lists the support dates for all Oracle Application Server releases.

    Regards,

    Steven
