Per Microsoft (MS), end of life for Microsoft (MS) Internet Explorer (IE) 11 is effective June 15, 2022. As an Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) customer, you have multiple browsers to choose from that are certified with EBS.
What Do You Need To Do?
Oracle strongly recommends that EBS customers deploy a browser that is certified with Oracle E-Business Suite using Java Web Start by following the requirements in the My Oracle Support Knowledge documents:
- Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (MOS Note 389422.1)
- Using Java Web Start with Oracle E-Business Suite (MOS Note 2188898.1)
The following products in EBS require ActiveX controls which are available with MS IE or IE Mode on MS Edge (Edge):
- Product Workbench, as described in Oracle Product Hub User’s Guide, chapter Using the Product Workbench.
- Oracle Projects interface with MS Projects through Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator, as described in the Oracle Projects Implementation Guide, chapter Implementing Oracle Project Planning and Control.
If you use either of the above listed products, we recommend that you use IE mode on Edge when accessing EBS. We recommend that all other users in your organization access EBS via standard mode on Edge, or via any of the other browsers certified with EBS.
For more information regarding IE Mode on Edge with EBS, refer to the following:
- Section 2.4: Using IE Mode for Product Workbench or Oracle Projects in Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (MOS Note 389422.1)
What can EBS customers expect after June 2022?
When IE 11 reaches end of life in June 2022:
- Oracle Support will continue to assist, where possible, in investigating issues that involve IE 11.
- Oracle’s ability to assist may be limited due to limited access to IE 11.
- Oracle will continue to provide access to existing EBS patches for IE 11 issues.
