Oracle Data Guard 19c Certified with EBS 12.1 When Using Physical Server Names

Elke Phelps
Product Management Director

As an update to our previous certification announcement, we are pleased to announce the certification of Oracle Data Guard 19c with Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 when using physical server names.

Oracle Data Guard is used to create a physical standby database for an Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 database. A physical standby database is a key component for a disaster recovery site for Oracle E-Business Suite.

When deploying a disaster recovery site for Oracle E-Business Suite, you may chose a configuration that uses either physical host names or logical host names. Refer to the following document for detailed instructions for creating your disaster recovery site when using physical host names:

Note:  Additional Database 19c certifications for Data Guard and Active Data Guard with Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 and 12.2 are currently planned and will be announced when available. You may monitor or subscribe to this blog for the latest in certification announcements.

    Hello Elke,

Could you please clarify the content in "NOTE" section ->
"Note: Additional Database 19c certifications for Data Guard and Active Data Guard with Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 and 12.2 are currently planned and will be announced when available."

We do have active data guard, Does 19c certified with EBS 12.1 active data guard?

    Thanks,
    Sai

    Sai -

Database 19c Active Data Guard is not currently certified for EBS 12.2 or EBS 12.1.

A separate blog article will be published for these announcements when available. You may monitor or subscribe to this blog for the latest in certification announcements.

Elke what os are certified with Data Guard? Looking at certifications on Metalink Ebusiness 12.1 on Hpux Itanium it is not certified with database 19 or data guard . Are the certifications on metalink updated when you make announcements?

    Thanks

    Clifford, Thanks for the questions.

EBS 12.1 is certified with IBM AIX and HP Itanium. These platforms were certified per the original certification announcement available here:
    https://blogs.oracle.com/ebstech/oracle-database-193-now-certified-with-ebs-121

All platforms currently certified with EBS 12.1 and 19c are also certified with Data Guard as of this announcement.

The certify tab on MOS should be updated prior to any blog article announcement. Unfortunately, we sometimes encounter a slight delay and/or issues with the certify tab on MOS. I will alert the team of the current discrepancies for correction.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

    Regards,
    Elke
