We are pleased to announce that the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.8.0_231 (8u231) on the JRE 8 codeline is now certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Releases 12.1 and 12.2.

This article answers some questions you may have on the subject.

Should I use Java Web Start or the Java Plug-in with this JRE update?

While we strongly recommend that you migrate to Java Web Start now, using Java Web Start is not a prerequisite for using this Java CPU. You should uptake this latest Java CPU regardless of whether you are currently using Java Web Start or Java Plug-in on your client tier.

How do I get support adopting this latest Java CPU?

If you are using Java Web Start and require assistance with applying this CPU, you can log a service request for assistance from the Java Support organization.
