Our Applications Platforms Group has just released a flurry of new platform certifications for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 for the 10gR2 10.2.0.4 Database Server.  The following operating systems are now certified for database-tier only deployments:
  • Sun Solaris x86-64 (Solaris 10) 
  • IBM: Linux on System z (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5, Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise System 9 and 10)
  • IBM: Linux on Power Systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5, Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise System 9 and 10)
  • Linux Itanium (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5, Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise System 9 and 10)
These database-tier only platforms were previously certified with E-Business Suite 12.0 and 10gR2.  Customers running those combinations can now apply the 12.1.1 Maintenance Pack to upgrade their application tier to EBS 12.1.1 while running the 10gR2 database on one of the above platforms. This is a database-tier only certification (previously known as a ‘split configuration database tier’ certification), where the application tier must be on a fully certified E-Business Suite R12 platform. Still Underway The certification of Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 with Windows 2003 (x64) and Windows Itanium as database tier-only platforms is still underway.  I don’t have firm schedules for this certification yet, but you’re welcome to monitor or subscribe to this blog for updates, which I’ll post as soon as soon as they’re available.   Related Articles
