As a follow-up to our recent EBS 12.2 data masking with 19c certification announcement, we are pleased to to announce enhancements to the EBS 12.2 Data Masking Template. The updated template includes bug fixes and an optional post-masking script. The optional post-masking script provides synchronization between FND and HR user data.
You can use the Oracle Data Masking and Subsetting Pack with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c (EM 13c) to mask sensitive data in cloned (non-production) EBS 12.2 environments with Database 19c.
To use EM 13c to mask data in a cloned EBS 12.2 environment with Database 19c, use the following instructions and updated template:
- Using Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 Data Masking Template with Oracle Database 19c and Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c (MOS Note: 2670270.1)
- EBS 12.2 DATA MASKING PACK FOR EM 13C – V2.0.7 (Patch 30966900)
What does masking do in an EBS environment?
Due to data dependencies, scrambling E-Business Suite data is a non-trivial task. The data needs to be scrubbed in such a way that allows the application to continue to function.
Based upon the Oracle E-Business Suite architecture and sensitive columns, application data
masking with the certified EBS Data Masking Template does the following:
- De-identifies the data: Scrambles identifiers of individuals, also known as personally identifiable information (PII). Examples include information such as name, account, and address.
- Masks sensitive data: Masks data that, if associated with PII, would cause privacy concerns. Examples include compensation, health and employment information.
- Maintains data validity: Provides a functional application.
