I am pleased to announce that Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Release 12.1.3
is now certified for migrations to Oracle Linux 8 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8. The Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (UEK), which is the default kernel for Oracle Linux, and the Red Hat compatible kernel are both certified.
This certification covers the migration of existing EBS 12.1.3 environments to Oracle Linux 8 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 by cloning (from existing Linux environments) or platform migration (from existing non Linux environments). The use of Rapid Install to create a new EBS 12.1 environment is not supported currently.
Migrating existing EBS 12.1.3 environments to these operating systems require the application of EBS and technology patches along with upgrades to technology components such as the Oracle Database, Oracle JDK, and others.
All requirements, known issues, etc. are noted in the referenced Installation and Upgrade Notes (IUN) My Oracle Support Knowledge document and must be reviewed:
- Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.1.1) for Linux x86-64 (MOS Note 761566.1)
The Certifications page (‘Certify’) on My Oracle Support (http://support.oracle.com) is in the process of being updated with this information.
