[Editor: This is an a elaborated and expanded version of a comment from one of our Applications Technology Group architects from the now-massive AutoConfig Comment thread]

In previous patches:
- The AutoConfig Engine and its associated utilities were released via patches bundled in the ADX product ID.
- The E-Business Suite AutoConfig templates were released via patches bundled in the TXK product ID.
- To get an up-to-date AutoConfig setup, you needed to download and install both sets of patches individually.
We have now combined the AutoConfig Engine and the E-Business Suite Templates into a single patch for easier management. They are now being combined into TXK rollup patches, the first combined one being:
- 4709948 TXK (FND) AUTOCONFIG TEMPLATE ROLLUP PATCH M (APRIL 2006) which includes the last ADX minipack (3453499 ADX:Patch 11i.ADX.F)
These rollup patches get packaged together into a Minipack.
The last TXK Minipack (3219567 Patch 11i.TXK.B Technology Stack Minipack B) was released in November, 2004. This was part of 11.5.10 and contained TXK AutoConfig Rollup I (Oct 2004) Patch 3594604.
Each subsequent Rollup patch (RUP) includes the previous one.
Hopefully this clarifies the delivery of AutoConfig code.
Enhancements for AutoConfig
On a separate note, I would like to thank everyone who posted comments about AutoConfig features. It took us a long time to get to this point and there are probably a lot more features you want. So if you can continue submitting here your favorite enhancement, we will do our best to include the most desirable ones.
Thanks,
Ivo Dujmovic
Director of TXK Development Team

Ivo,
First of all Thank you VERY MUCH for an opportunity to give our feedback as input for your future development.
In order to make our (end users & Oracle development) collaboration even more effective can you please give us idea what features you are working on currently (+which features are in your lis)?
I think it would be absolutely fantastic for an Apps DBAs to know that to expect from next TKX module releases (patches).
In the other hand we will not bother you with suggestion that you are working on or aware about already.
By my mind the best place to publish that type of information is Metalink note.
What would you say? Is it a good idea?
Thank you in advance,
Yury

Hello Ivo,
Some of my clients would like to add additional configuration files (configuration files used by introduced customizations) to autoconfig.
Technically it isn't a difficult task. Two thinks that we need to do in that case is to introduce additional configuration file template and adjust the autoconfig driver file.
One problem in that approach is if new version of autoconfig driver file is delivered by a patch it overwrote customized one. Can you please advice if Oracle Development can address the issue.
PS By my mind you can introduce the same approach as with cfg templates' files. As soon as patch introduces new version of autoconfig driver file, it makes warning to Apps DBA.
Thank you in advance,
Yury

Yury,
We have redoubled our efforts to publish features in RUP's readme files, and larger features would go into the MetaLink Note 165195.1 . As time passes, the submissions are mostly smaller, more focused enhancements or bug fixes.
We are close to releasing our latest TXK RUP N with almost 100 enhancements/fixes, and its readme will give you an overview.
As for your second post, there is a way to do the customization you mention -- add another prod_top under appl_top, lets call it yury_top, and in there create admin/driver/yurytmpl.drv and admin/templates for your templates.
I have not tested this, but think it should work without any registration. I will ask someone to doc this if you find it useful. However it might take us some time, as we are also working on 12 and Fusion. :)
Thanks,
--Ivo

Sam, If we do decide to issue another Consolidated Update, then these patches will be included in it. These patches will be included in ATG Family Packs and Rollups, for certain.Regards,Steven
