A new Rapid Install startCD (Patch 18086193) for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 is now available. We recommend that all EBS customers installing or upgrading to EBS 12.2 use this latest update.

Hello, Moazzam,

I'm sorry that you're encountering issues with this.

I suspect that your download may be incomplete or corrupted. Please download a fresh copy of the StartCD and give this another try.

Regards,
Steven

Moazzam,
Also, please make sure you run the buildstage.sh script to update the TXK patches included in the startCD 48.

I am upgrading 11.5.10.2 instance and our database is 11.2.3.11 and we are planning to upgrade it to ebs 12.2.3. Per document: 1594274.1, there are many technology consolidated patches to be applied on the database tier if we use startcd 46 with the existing database paths. In order to reduce the number of patches, is there anyway, we can proceed with startcd 48 to install the database binaries, applied the psu 11 patches, and then clone it and use the binaries with our existing datafiles?
Any reference document for this approach.
Thank you.

Guest, the upgrade flow in Rapid Install allows you to use startCD 48 with an existing Oracle Home 11gR2 or it will lay down a new one for you (with all the patches applied) and then you can connect your database to it. If I understood correctly, It looks like what you are trying to achieve is the later. If this is not the case, I welcome you to follow up with Oracle Support for guidance.
On any case, I would suggest you use startCD 48 since it will include most of the patches.

Yes, we would like to lay down the binaries with all the patches and then during the cutover move the data files, connect the database and perform the patching on the database itself, not the binaries. It will reduce the downtime.

I am installing R12.2.4.
Do i need to install that patch "18086193" first ?

I am doing upgrade and using startCD 49 version. I would like to know if I don't use the existing ORACLE_HOME option and use the version installed by rapid installer. How the post patch application steps for Oracle database patches will get executed. Also the installation in upgrade mode option doesn't allow you to do a multinode installation by copying conf_PROD.txt file on each node, so how should we do the installation in upgrade mode in which I would like to keep database on separate node.
