Database 10gR2 Certified with E-Business Suite

With the July 4 weekend coming up, it's nice to wrap up the week with a bang.  This final announcement for the week is cause for celebration.

Oracle Database 10gR2 is now certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i ( and Release 12 (12.0.4 or higher; 12.1.1 or higher).  The database patchset is the terminal release for the 10gR2 codeline. 

Premier Support for 10gR2 ends July 31, 2010

We've covered this several times already, but it never hurts to keep reminding you that Premier Support for the 10gR2 (10.2) database ends on July 31, 2010.

Regular readers may recall that fees for the first year of Extended Support for the 10gR2 database are waived. There is nothing that customers need to do to remain fully supported other than keep your support contracts current. Higher fees for Extended Support will start August 1, 2011 for most platforms.

If you are considering upgrade paths for your EBS environment from 10gR2, you have the choice of either 11gR1 (11.1) or 11gR2 (11.2).  For the longest Premier Support coverage, choose 11gR2.  Here's a snapshot of our EBS database roadmap as of today:

Hi Steven,

This article states that the is certified on a number pf platforms for 11i ( including "Linux x86 (RHEL 4, 5)".

On searching for an x86 version of the patch (8202632) I can;t find one.

Can you advise if this is something that is planned and going to be available any time soon?

Hi, Des,

I just checked this patch. It appears that the Linux x86 port is temporarily on hold, but doesn't state the reason. Your best bet would be to log a formal Service Request via My Oracle Support (formerly Metalink) to get one of our specialists engaged in moving this port along.

Please feel free to forward your Service Request number to me if it gets stuck in the support process for some reason.

Thanks Steven,

I logged SR number 3-1942991001 to enquire about for Linux x86

I went through the SR templates for requesting an existing patch... which seems to have logged the SR as a 'Feedback' rather than a Technical!

Anyway, the analyst assigned has said that Dev pulled the patch and they don't have any further informtaion available,

If you are able to get anything more out of Developemnt I'd appreciate it. I was about to download for an upgrade (Test thankfully) this week... but have had to fall back to for the timebeing.

Any help, much appreciated.

Hi steven,

i want to know about end of support oracle database 10.2
our Prod Instance is on we plan to upgrade to 11gR2 soon but it takes sometime so could you advice me 10.20.3 also in the disupport list kindly update me .

Premier Support for the database ended in Feb 2009, 12 months after was released. This is consistent with the support policies described in this article:
