Database 11gR1 Version 11.1.0.7 Certified with EBS 12

The Oracle 11gR1 Database version 11.1.0.7 was certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i last December.  I'm pleased to announce that it's now certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12, too.  11.1.0.7 is the first database patchset available for the 11g Release 1 Database version 11.1.0.6.

For those of you planning to upgrade from Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i to 12, this means that the database releases for Apps are back in parity.  You can upgrade directly to Apps R12. from whatever 11gR1 database release you might be running with your Apps 11i environment -- 11.1.0.6 or 11.1.0.7.

Steve,

Do you have an idea on how many customers are running 11i on database 11g (11.0.1.6 or 11.1.0.7) in their production environment ?

We just upgraded one of our test databases and hope to go live with 11g DB in the next 3-6 months. Was curious to know how many customers have done this already.

Thanks.

Does it mean we are able to use exadata?

Hello Mike,

Yes, Steven mentioned in his previous blog article about Exadata that R12 can use it once certified with 11.1.0.7 (http://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/2009/01/running_apps_11i_on_hp_oracle_database_machine.html)

Hi, Naveen,

My anecdotal impression is that we're still in the early stages of the EBS 11i + 11gR1 adoption cycle. A relatively small number of customers have put this into production to date.

The customers I've heard from personally tend to be very large (e.g. a national European transportation infrastructure organization, a national US retailer).

I would be very interested in updates on your 11gR1 upgrade. Please let me know if you have any difficulties with SRs logged for this project.

Regards,
Steven

Hi Steven,
My company is in the process of upgrading our database with e-business suite R1206 from 10.2.0.4 to 11gR2(11.2.01). When is 11gR2 going to be certified with E-business suite R1206. ?
Thanks
Dayo

Hi, Dayo,

We're working on that certification right now. I don't have firm schedules for this certification yet, but you're welcome to monitor or subscribe to this blog for updates, which I'll post as soon as soon as they're available.

Regards,
Steven

Hi Steven,

Is HP-UX PA-RISC 64-bit certified with 11.1.0.7.
You have mentioned only about Itanium, and also I cannot see about PA-RISC even in 'still underway' list.

Can you please confirm.

Regards,
Famy

Announcement of HP-UX PA-RISC R12 certification with 11.1.0.7 was made back in February 2009.
