[May 10, 2011 update: Added details about RSS feed changes]
Thank you very much for all of your emails expressing support for this blog. Its absence has been felt acutely in a wide range of areas, and I’m very eager to get back to our regular publishing schedule. There’s a lot of exciting news to share with you.
You might notice a few changes. We switched blogging platforms from Movable Type to Roller. Unfortunately, we lost a few things along the way. Here are some tips on making the most of this blog following our migration:
- Categories have disappeared Some readers will remember that we used to assign multiple categories to articles. Roller only permits single categories to be assigned to an article. Our hierarchical categories and their index pages didn’t survive the migration. Check the Certifications summary in the sidebar menu for an index to all of our published articles about certifications.
- Master index has disappeared There’s no way of generating a list of all published articles. To browse all published articles, click “Next page” to page through all of our archives.
- Different search engine Roller uses a different search engine than its predecessor. If you’re having trouble finding an article using Roller’s internal search engine, you may have success with alternate search engines. Tip: most search engines can return hits for a specific site. Add “site:blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan” to your list of search terms to narrow down your search to this blog.
- Tags return only a subset of published articles We’ve published almost 800 articles to date. Clicking on a tag will return only a small subset of those articles, which may lead you to conclude that the information you’re looking for doesn’t exist. Check the Certifications summary or use the search function if you’re looking for something specific.
- IMPORTANT: Our RSS feed URL has changed! If you use a newsreader to follow this blog and have subscribed to this feed URL: http://feeds.feedburner.com/OracleE-BusinessSuiteTechnology That hasn’t changed. That feed will continue to work. You can also subscribe to any of the RSS feeds directly in the sidebar; those will work, too. These feed URLs differ from the previous ones, though, so you should check your newsreader subscriptions for accuracy.
Despite all of the changes, we’re glad to be back online again. Thanks for your patience and support during our migration.
Steven Chan
