We’ve been running an Early Adopter Program that allows you to replace or augment JInitiator clients with the native Sun Java plug-in for Windows.

We’ve just released Build 5, which supports the use of Sun Java 1.5.0_07 with the E-Business Suite for Windows desktop clients.
In addition to native Java issues resolved by the latest Sun Java plug-in, Build 5 resolves issues with accented character sets in Apps Forms (Oracle bug 5248128).
Early Adopter Program participants experiencing issues with accented characters, can install the Sun Java 1.5.0_07 plug-in along with Oracle patch 5092277. See Section 6 of the Build 5 documentation for more details.
If you haven’t already received a private copy of the documentation, emailed earlier to all Early Adopter Program participants, please contact me directly.
Upgrading from Earlier Builds
No changes to the interoperability patch levels are required. In other words, if you’ve installed Build 4 (i.e. interoperability patch 4377566), you’re already at the latest required patch level for Java 1.5.0_07.
Interested in Registering?
We’re still actively seeking new participants for this Early Adopter Program. If your organisation is interested in participating, please see this article for supported architectures, program terms, and registration details.
