[Editor May 2, 2007 Update:  As of today, the Database Vault certification for the E-Business Suite is still pending.  Our certification activities are underway, but there are no published schedules available yet.  We’re working with the Database Vault team to obtain and certify some patches that are required for compatibility.]

Oracle’s recent announcement of the Oracle Database Vault for the 10gR2 Database has spurred a surge of questions about its use with E-Business Suite Release 11i.

As a core database technology, it may generally be assumed to work with the E-Business Suite with no issues.  That said, the E-Business Suite covers a lot of territory, and Apps DBAs unfamiliar with its data model might need some guidance on how to set up Database Vault to meet their security requirements.

We have internal projects underway to develop some best practices around this for E-Business Suite environments.  Following that, we plan to publish some white papers summarizing those best practices and guidelines.

We don’t have any firm schedules for these papers yet, but feel free to subscribe to this blog if you’d like to be notified when they’re available.
