We've recently received many inquiries on how to configure Oracle E-Business Suite application and database tiers to use logical hostnames. To help with this, we have just published a new Note:
This new Note describes how to configure a machine to use a logical hostname, and the subsequent use of Rapid Install or Rapid Clone to configure the file system. There is also a discussion of the different scenarios in which logical hostnames can be employed.
Many of the examples shown depict E-Business Suite Release 12.2 on Linux 64-bit, but the fundamental concepts also apply to Releases 12.0 and 12.1, and to other operating systems.
