Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.0 originally shipped with OracleAS 10.1.3 Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J) for running its Java-based content.  Regular readers of this blog know that we certified OracleAS with Apps 12 at the start of this

In a fitting end to the year, we've now certified Oracle Application Server 10g OC4J with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.  You can upgrade to OracleAS OC4J directly from OracleAS 10.1.3 or  This certification allows
you to upgrade the OC4J components in your R12 techstack to get take advantage of the latest performance and stability improvements in this incremental patchset.  To make sure that there's no misunderstanding about what can be upgraded, the full name of
this patchset is:

It's important to note that either OracleAS or are mandatory prerequisites if you plan to upgrade your Release 12 application tier to the latest certified

"certifications for IBM AIX " Will this be soon? I am hearing from support that Oracle is not releasing Development Suite on AIX anymore, if so how will the Apps tier for ebs get certified? Does it not require regeneration of fmx during patching library changes in financial modules. Any info regarding this is appreciated.

    Hello, PT,

I'm not permitted to discuss release dates externally, I'm afraid. You're welcome to monitor or subscribe to this blog for certification updates.

As for your comment about AIX desupport -- that's not correct. We have no intention of altering our support for IBM AIX. This is a very important operating system platform for some of our biggest enterprise customers, and IBM is an important Oracle partner.

I'd be very interested in hearing about the source of that rumour, so that we can ensure that our certification strategy is properly communicated.

I'm trying to find some sizing guidelines for installing SSO onto AIX for E-Bus R12.1. Can you point me in the right direction please?

If you also know for Oracle OBIEE that would be useful.

    Hi, Nigel,

Individual hardware vendors perform their own sizing tests for the E-Business Suite; these go into model-specific sizing tools released by the hardware vendors themselves.

I haven't seen any AIX sizing guidelines from IBM for the configuration you've outlined. This doesn't mean that they don't exist, though. Your best bet is likely to contact IBM directly for help with this.
