Oracle Data Guard 12.1.0.2 Certified with EBS 12.2

Elke Phelps
Product Management Director

I'm pleased to announce the recent certification of Oracle Data Guard 12.1.0.2  with Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2.  You can use Oracle Data Guard 12.1.0.2 to create a Physical Standby Database for Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 environments.  A Physical Standby Database is a key component for a disaster recovery site for Oracle E-Business Suite.

Detailed steps for setting up a 12.1.0.2 Physical Standby Database for Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 are provided here:

Oracle E-Business Suite Data Guard Certifications

The following matrix provides an overview of what's currently certified and what's planned for Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 and 12.1.3 and Oracle Data Guard 12.1.0.2 and 11.2.0.4:

Oracle Data Guard 12.1.0.2 Oracle Data Guard 11.2.0.4

Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.3 Certified*, MOS Note 1900663.1 Certified, MOS Note 1070033.1

*For single node databases only.  Certification with RAC configurations is pending.

Note:  Oracle's Revenue Recognition rules prohibit us from discussing certification and release dates, but you're welcome to monitor or subscribe to this blog.

How to Find the Latest Certification Information

This blog is great for announcing certifications as they happen, but for ongoing updates and the latest information on certifications, your single source of truth is the Certifications tab in My Oracle Support.  From the Certifications tab on My Oracle Support, you can search for certified combinations of products with specific Oracle E-Business Suite versions.  For example:

Step 1.  Log in to My Oracle Support

Step 2. Click on the Certifications tab

Step 3.  Add your search criteria.  For example:  Add Oracle E-Business Suite to the Product List, add Release 12.2.4 to the Release List and optionally add your platform to the Platform List.

Step 4.Click Check certifications with another product

Step 5.  Add Data Guard to the Product List and optionally add the version to the Release List

The above search will list all versions of data guard currently certified as shown in the following screenshot:

    Hi,

I notice the comment *For single node databases only. Certification with RAC configurations is pending.

Does the single node database relate to the Primary or the Standby or both?

I am just wondering if I can have a RAC primary and single node Standby and be certified?

    Thanks

    Neil

    Neil,

Thanks for the inquiry. Certification with RAC configuration with Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 and Data Guard means that RAC is not certified for either the Primary Database or Standby Database.

    Thanks.

    Elke

    Hello, Khalid,

This blog is staffed by E-Business Suite specialists. I'm afraid that we don't have any visibility into Siebel certifications. You can log a formal Service Request against Siebel to get an authoritative answer to this question.

    Regards,

    Steven

    Hi Elke,

Given the extended support cost implications for 11.2.0.4 in February 2016, I hope that RAC will be certified with DataGuard on 12.1.0.2 before that time?

I don't think it is reasonable to not certify on a version that we have no choice to go to if we want to avoid extended support costs.

    Regards

    Neil

    Neil,

I understand your concerns. We are actively working on the certification of Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 with Database 12.1.0.2 Data Guard with a RAC configuration. This is a high priority project for us in Oracle E-Business Suite development.

If you could, please send me an email. I'd like to collect some additional information about your company and your requirements for this certification.

    Regards,

    Elke

    Hi Elke:

My apologies in advance for going slightly off topic (as this is an 11i Data Guard question and not R12).

We are looking at upgrading our 11i instance to use RDBMS 12c (we are currently at RDBMS 11.2.0.3). We use Data Guard, Physical Standby Database, for business continuity, should that need ever arise.

However, the Certify page for 11i shows that 11i is only certified for use with Data Guard 11.2.0.4 not 12c. Are there any plans on getting 12c Data Guard (and here I'm only interested in its Physical Standby Database functionality) certified for use with 11i (11.5.10.2)? And if so is there a timeframe for that certification?

    Take care,

    Jerry

    Jerry,

We are not currently planning to certify Oracle E-Business Suite 11i with Oracle Database 12c Data Guard.

If you could, please drop me an email with your company name and plans for remaining on Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.

    Thanks.

    Elke

    Hello,

We have EBS 12.2.5 with DB 12.1.0.3 integrated with OAM/OID for Single Singn-On. When I explore the MOS, I could not find any reference on how to build DR Setup for this kind of environment. Note 1963472.1 says about only EBS environment without OAM/OID integration. Since the Webgate and EBSAccess gate deployed within the EBS WebLogic server, how we can setup DR and perform switchover. Please guide.
