Oracle Access Manager 11.1.2 Certified with E-Business Suite 12

Elke Phelps
Product Management Director

I am happy to announce that Oracle Access Manager 11gR2 (11.1.2) is now certified with E-Business Suite Releases 12.0.6 and 12.1. If you are implementing single sign-on for the first time, or are an existing Oracle Access Manager user, you may integrate with Oracle Access Manager 11gR2 using Oracle Access Manager WebGate and Oracle E-Business Suite AccessGate.

Supported Architecture and Release Versions

  • Oracle Access Manager 11.1.2
  • Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.0.6, 12.1.1+
  • Oracle Identity Management,
  • Oracle Internet Directory
  • Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.5+
What's New In This Oracle Access Manager 11gR2 Integration?
  • Simplified integration: We've simplified the instructions and cut the number of pages, while adding clarity to the steps.
  • Automation of configuration steps:  We've automated some of the required configuration steps. This is the first phase of automation and diagnostics that are part of our roadmap for this integration.
  • Use of default OAM Login page: We are reducing the required troubleshooting by delivering the default OAM Login page for the integration. A custom login page can still be created by using Oracle Access Manager.
  • Use of the Detached Credential collector in a Demilitarized Zone: We have certified the Detached Credential collector as part of a DMZ configuration. This will enhance the security of the underlying Oracle Access Manager and E-Business Suite components, which will now be required only within a company's intranet.

Choosing the Right Architecture

With this recent certification of OAM 11gR2 with Release 12, is this combination also certified with :

    eBS Release 12.1.3 + OAM 11gR2 + Portal ?

We are in the process of implementing Single-sign on for Release 12 and at a point on deciding to Install OAM 11gR1 or 11gR2 to integrate with Oracle Portal

Any direction on this will be most useful.

Oracle Access Manager 11.1.2 and Oracle Portal are certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.0.6 and Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.1. Please refer to the certifications tab on My Oracle Support for the latest information on certified combinations.

Our recommendation is to migrate to the latest certified version of Oracle Access Manager, 11.1.2. Please also note that you should consider migrating from Oracle Portal to Oracle WebCenter.

The OAM 11g forgot password link on Oracle sites works fantastic.

    1. Click on forgot password.

    2. Enter email.

    3. Password reset link url is sent to your email. Click on link and reset sso password.

Is this an out of the box functionality or do we have to do some development.? As an unauthenticated guest user, the only link I get is .admin.faces.pages.forgotpwd.jspx. We've integrated OIM 11.1.2 and OAM 11.1.2. Are there other components required for this functionality.

    Please Help

    Hello Elke,

As per your last update 'Oracle Access Manager 11.1.2 and Oracle Portal are certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.0.6 and Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.1'.

We have now successfully installed OAM 11gR2 and integrated it with eBusiness 12.1.3. During installation of Portal we raised an SR 3-6670422441 regarding steps for integrating Oracle Portal with OAM 11gR2. The analyst in the SR advised that Oracle Portal is not yet certified with OAM 11gR2...

Does this imply that customers wishing to integrate eBusiness 12.1.3 with Portal should use OAM 11gR1 and not the latest OAM 11gR2?

Will an implementation of Oracle Access Manager 11.1.2 provide SSO/WNA functionality for EBS 12.1.3?

  • Elke Phelps (Oracle Development) Thursday, January 31, 2013

E-Business Suite Release 12 is certified with Oracle Access Manager 11gR2. In turn, Oracle Access Manager certifies with third-party authentication systems. E-Business Suite inherits certification with third-party authentication systems via the Oracle Access Manager certification.

As such, SSO/WNA integration is possible with E-Business Suite 12 and Oracle Access Manager 11gR2.

Thanks for the inquiry. With Oracle Access Manager 11.1.2, the forgot password link functionality is provided as part the default Oracle Access Manager login page. With the E-Business Suite Release 12 certificaiton with Oracle Access Manager 11.1.2, the default Oracle Access Manager login page is used. If you are using the default login page and not creating a custom login page, no additional development is required.

OAM 11gR2 includes functionality for password policy management (ie: password expiry etc..) It does this by using extra attributes in the directory (eg: OID). This is an alternative to having OID manage password policies.

Is there any reasion why this should not be used in an EBS R12.1.3 - OAM/OAI 11gR2 configuration??

ie: Is there anything with EBS-OAM integration that would stop you using this functionality?

Is there any way that we can implement OAM without having OID for R12.1.3 E-Business suite or is it compulsory to have OID ? Please explain why we cant have directly AD for this?

    Appreciated Thanks

Thank you for the inquiry. We planned to announce password policy management functionality with the certification of E-Business Suite with Oracle Access Manager 11gR2; however, during our integration testing, we encountered a few issues. As a result of our testing, we logged a BUG with the Oracle Access Manager development team. Once the BUG is resolved, we in E-Business Suite development can plan for additional testing. Please continue to monitor this blog for announcements regarding password management functionality when integrating E-Business Suite with Oracle Access Manager 11gR2.

    Dear Guest,

Thanks for the inquiry. Integrating Oracle Access Manager with Oracle E-Business Suite requires Oracle Internet Directory. The primary reason is the Oracle E-Business Suite's dependency on the Oracle Global Unique Identifier (GUID).

You can read more about the requirement for Oracle Internet Directory when integrating Oracle E-Business Suite with Oracle Access Manager in the following article:

Your comment above re: issues with intergrating E-Business Suite with Oracle Access Manager 11gR2; is there details of what these issues are and the status of the bug fix?

  • Elke Phelps (Oracle Development) Friday, October 11, 2013

Oracle Access Manager 11gR2 provides additional password policy features. Oracle E-Business Suite currently has not certified the use of these features with the Oracle Access Manager integration. We currently plan to certify use of some Oracle Access Manager password policy features when integrated with Oracle E-Business Suite.

The issues noted in the previous entry were issues encountered by our E-Business Suite development and certification teams when utilzing Oracle Access Manager password policies when integrated with Oracle E-Business Suite. The BUG is not externally published.

Oracle's Revenue Recognition policies prevent disclosure of dates for future releases, certificaitons and enhancements. Please continue to monitor this blog for updates.

We have OAM installed in our dev env and integrated with EBS. We have our corporate sso siteminder . we have integrated OAM with Siteminder through a custom JSP . Can you provide us recommended approach to integrate OAM with Siteminder

We have a Two node Load Balanced EBS 12.2.4 and we want to enable SSO with this using Oracle Access Manager and we are following Integrating Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 with Oracle Access Manager 11gR2 (11.1.2) using Oracle E-Business Suite AccessGate (Doc ID 1576425.1).

But this note does not have a clue when the OAM is also two node clustered and Load Balancer enabled. What steps to follow/modify for the same? Specially in the Section 4.1 Deploy Oracle E-Business Suite AccessGate and 4.2 Register Oracle E-Business Suite with Oracle Access Manager.

Also Do we need OHS on the OAM side as per https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27559_01/admin.1112/e28212/intro.htm#BHCCDIJG ? Or we can use OHS of EBS itself?

You should perform the integration steps outlined in the following My Oracle Support Note:

Integrating Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 with Oracle Access Manager 11gR2 (11.1.2) using Oracle E-Business Suite AccessGate (Doc ID 1576425.1)

Note: With Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2, WebGate and EBS AccessGate are deployed with the Oracle E-Business Suite Application Tier Technology Stack.

A summary of the steps to perform per Section 3 and 4 of MOS Note 576425.1:

    i. Install, configure and integration Oracle Internet Directory

ii. Install and configure Oracle Access Manager

Note 1576425.1 does not cover load balancing configuration of Oracle Access Manager. For this configuration, you should refer to the Fusion Middleware Documentation located here:

Once you have Oracle Access Manger installed and configured, you may use the web entry point for the OAM in the registration steps required for Oracle E-Business Suite.

iii. Install prerequisite components for Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2.

This includes Oracle E-Business prerequisite patches and the download and installation of WebGate. EBS AccessGate is automatically deployed with the WebLogic Server included with the Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 applications technology stack.

iv. Integrate Oracle E-Business Suite with Oracle Access Manager.

    a. Register Oracle E-Business Suite with OAM

    b. Follow configuration steps

NOTE: Additional steps are required if you have a multi-node Oracle E-

Business Suite environment. Please follow the steps as listed in Section 6.2 of Note 1576425.1

We have EBS 12.2 and OAM, OID I am trying to see the certification matrix for these products but I am unable to find it. Appreciate if there is a certification matrix for EBS 12.2 with OAM

  • Elke Phelps (Oracle Development) Friday, August 7, 2015

To find products that are certified with Oracle E-Business Suite, do the following:

    - Go to My Oracle Support

    - Go to the Certifications Tab

    - For the Product, Select Oracle E-Business Suite

    - For the Release, Enter the Oracle E-Business Suite Release (ie, 12.2.4)

    - Click "Check certification with another product"

    - For the Product, Select Oracle Access Manger, optionally, enter a version

    - Click Search

If you did not specify a version for Oracle Access Manager, this will list all versions certified

If you specified a version for Oracle Access Manager, this will list only the version listed if it is certified.

Am Integrating EBS 12.1.3 with access manager using accessgate. I want my user creation flow to be from EBS -> OID -> AD. How do I restrict my external users from OID to AD? which means I dont want DIP to push my external users to AD.

    Please share your thoughts.
