Steven Chan
Senior Director

Apple logoApple's Java for OS X 2012-006 update uninstalled the Apple-provide Java applet plug-in from all Mac web browsers. Mac OS X users running Java-based applications are instructed to download the latest version of the Java 7 applet plug-in from Oracle. For more information about Oracle's Java 7 for Mac, see:

We're currently certifying Oracle E-Business Suite with Mac desktops running Java 7. We have identified some compatibility issues and are working with the Java team on fixes right now.

Until that certification is completed, EBS users on Mac platforms can follow these instructions from Apple to ensure continued access to the E-Business Suite:

I have tried using above link, however, I am unable to activate Java Version 6 and hence I am unable to use Oracle E Business Suit R12.

I have MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion OS and while Java 7 can be removed/disabled, I am unable to activate Java version 6.

    Can someone help ?

    Chandrakant,

I'm sorry to hear that you've encountered an issue with this.

We can provide general conceptual guidance here, but I'm afraid that this blog isn't the best place to get technical support for specific issues like the one that you're working through.

Your best bet would be to log a formal Service Request via My Oracle Support (formerly Metalink) to get one of our specialists engaged.

Please feel free to forward your Service Request number to me if it gets stuck in the support process for some reason.

    Regards,

    Steven

    Hi Steven,

Greetings. How do u do? I know that you cannot reveal the release dates, but still tentative release time frame for R12.2, is it FY13Q1, FY13Q2, etc. for planning.

On a personal note, Please can you guide whether can we install Oracle E-Biz R12(12.1.1) on Macbook with 128GB/256GB SSD running a VM with Windows 2003.

Also can we install it on an external drive if the 256 GB is not enough as typical R12 install in windows/unix requires around 170 Gigs+.

Your answer decides my decision of buying a Macbook with 128GB/256GB and high resolution retina display. :-)

    Thanks and Regards,

    Rajasekaran.
