[June 29, 2016 update: Added additional pointers to selective use of Enterprise Mode]
Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 offers two options for enabling backwards-compatibility:
- Enterprise Mode (enabled via group policies or registry edits)
- Compatibility View (enabled via individual browser settings)
You should not use either of these with Oracle E-Business Suite. These two modes have no benefit for EBS end-users.
These two methods are not needed for EBS compatibility. You should ensure that you have applied all of the latest EBS server-side patches to avoid any compatibility issues:
- Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i (Note 285218.1)
- Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (Note 389422.1)
What if I need Enterprise Mode?
Organizations can configure IE to use Enterprise Mode for some websites but not others. It’s not a binary state for your end-users’ desktops — it is fine-grained and very flexible. See:
You can enable Enterprise Mode generally for your end-users and simply leave your EBS environment off that list.
Support Implications
If you report any EBS EBS issues that are isolated to Enterprise Mode, we’ll advise you to turn Enterprise Mode off.
