[Nov 2, 2009 Update: It appears that the links below aren’t working. It’s unclear whether this is a temporary suspension or whether they’re permanently gone. If you’re looking for specific OpenWorld session materials, I would recommend contacting the session author directly for their presentations.]

Over the years, this blog’s readership has proven that you’re paying close attention to even the smallest details posted here.  This keeps me sharp.  I wouldn’t want eidetic memory, but
something better than my current wetware storage and retrieval system would be nice.  As part of my fact-checking for a recent blog article that touched on
Oracle’s own E-Business Suite global single instance, I was hunting around for an OpenWorld 2008 presentation to verify some vaguely-remembered details about hardware model numbers.  Much frustration ensued.

It turns out that getting one’s hands on OpenWorld presentations can be a bit tricky.  If you were an OpenWorld attendee, you had the dubious privilege of purchasing all of the presentation
materials
on a DVD kit.  I don’t think I will ever understand the marketing mindset.

Thankfully, you can still download individual OpenWorld presentations from the online session catalogs for the previous two years.  If you’re looking for presentations from previous conferences, bookmark these two links:
