I am much wiser than I used to be, but of course, I have forgotten most of the things that I’m supposed to be wise about.

~ Nora Ephron

Regular readers know that I strive to keep this blog tightly focussed on E-Business Suite-related technology stack news and tips.  There’s a place for personal blogs, of course, but that’s not the goal of this site.  That said, I’m going to wander off track for just a moment.

This has been a good year for me.

A few months ago, I was pleased to hear that I’d been entered into the ranks of our Oracle ACEs, which recognizes individuals for their expertise and contributions to the Oracle community.  Ironically, I was one of the team members who lobbied for this program to be opened to E-Business Suite nominees.  Now that it’s open to Apps users, I’d encourage you to nominate other deserving members of our Apps community for this award.

At OpenWorld a few nights ago, I was honoured to receive one of this year’s OAUG Oracle Ambassador awards, which recognizes Oracle staff on their efforts to reach out to the Applications community.  I suspect that this blog played a notable role in that award, so I’m pleased to accept it on behalf of all of my co-authors:  Nilesh Patel, Mike Shaw, Avanish Srivatsav, Keith Swartz, Jim Van Heel, and Sara Woodhull.

OpenWorld is always a major highlight of the year because I get to meet with many readers and customers personally.  Thanks for sharing your experiences with me.  I’ll be taking your feedback and comments back to our development teams.

Most of all — thanks for your words of encouragement and support.  They mean more than you know, and more than I can say.
