If you downloaded the E-Business Suite Release 12.0.2 Release Update Pack (RUP2) as soon as it became available, you have already received a private email about a potential issue with that download.

I’m posting that notice here for readers whose spam filters might have intercepted that email:

On Wednesday July 18, an issue was identified related to the packaging of patch 5484000, Oracle E-Business Suite 12.0.2 Release Update Pack (RUP2). Users attempting to run the Patch Application Assistant by entering admsi.pl (Item 2 in the Instructions for Applying This Patch) received the following error:


ERROR:

/r12patches/5484000/per/patch/115/manualsteps/per_hrglobal.xml (No such file or

directory)


This issue was quickly identified and resolved, but it required us to pull back and re-issue the patch.  Therefore, any customer who downloaded

RUP2 on July 17th or 18th (18th/19th APAC) should re-download the current version of the RUP2 patch. To confirm that you have the updated patch:


1. Generate the md5 checksum of the file you have previously downloaded.


Syntax example for Linux:



md5sum p5484000_R12_LINUX_1of2.zip
md5sum

p5484000_R12_LINUX_2of2.zip


2. Compare the values returned to the MD5 values reported for the files to the following values.  If the values match then you have the revised version of the patch.  If the values do not match then please obtain the updated version of patch 5484000 from Metalink Patch download page.
