Oracle APEX has become the preferred platform for implementing Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) extensions. We are pleased to announce the availability of a new set of EBS 12.2 enhancements that embed Oracle APEX extensions in your EBS ecosystem.

What is Oracle APEX?

Oracle APEX is a low-code application development platform for the Oracle database. APEX combines the qualities of a personal database (productivity, ease of use, and flexibility) with the qualities of an enterprise database (security, integrity, performance, scalability, availability, and built for the web).

The browser-based interface, declarative programming framework, and simple wizards make Oracle APEX easy to learn and enable you to quickly build robust applications.

For more information about APEX, see the following:  Oracle APEX Release 24.1 Documentation.

What’s New with the Enhanced Integration?

The following is a list of the new enhancements that allow you to develop extensions that are tightly integrated with your EBS environment:

  • Register an APEX page using a new EBS function type
    • Embedded or Full Window are the two supported modes.
    • Embedded mode allows a custom APEX page to appear within an OA Framework page, providing a more consistent look and feel as the user moves between standard and custom pages.
    • Full Window mode opens the APEX page on in a separate browser window.
  • Navigate seamlessly from EBS to APEX using EBS-configured authentication
    • Authentication can be either local or single sign-on (SSO) with Oracle Access Manager (OAM) or Identity Cloud Service (IDCS).
    • Access is controlled via EBS function security authorization.
  • Integrate an APEX workspace schema with EBS
    • The APEX schema is registered as a custom EBS schema.
    • The APEX schema is editions-enabled to work with EBS 12.2 Online Patching.
