From XO to XOI: A Rebranding That Reflects More
The XO module originally focused on surfacing external data in Oracle B2C Service. However, as integration needs have evolved, so has XOI. Now, XOI covers not just data access but also powerful integration functionalities, helping you connect with third-party services and other Oracle systems within Oracle B2C Service. This rebranding captures XOI’s broader scope, positioning it as a robust foundation for seamless integrations across Oracle B2C Service and beyond.
What’s New in XOI?
XOI is packed with new features that make integrations faster, easier, and more secure. Here’s a peek at the most exciting updates:
-
New Integration Type – ORDS
XOI now lets you connect directly to Oracle Database tables exposed via ORDS, providing a read-only RESTful interface over HTTPS. This integration allows you to pull real-time data and generate reports—without having to write any code. It’s a simple, no-fuss way to connect your Oracle database with B2C Service and leverage its data for your needs.
-
New Authentication Type – OCI Signature V1
Security just got easier! XOI now supports OCI Signature V1, simplifying secure integration with OCI services, including Generative AI. The intuitive, user-friendly UI streamlines the process, making it easier than ever to establish seamless, secure connections with Oracle Cloud.
-
Expanded OAuth2 support
XOI now supports the client credentials grant type in OAuth2, allowing you to pass credentials in the POST body and define a value for the scope. This added flexibility means XOI can connect to an even wider range of OAuth-based endpoints, opening up new possibilities for your integrations.
-
HTTP Method restrictions
Security is always top of mind! XOI now offers administrators the ability to restrict which HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, etc.) can be executed through an XOI connection. This feature helps prevent accidental executions by blocking all methods except the ones you specifically choose, adding another layer of security, especially when working with external endpoints.
As XOI continues to grow and evolve, we’re constantly enhancing its security, reliability, and flexibility to keep up with the increasing demand for more powerful integrations. These updates ensure XOI remains a solid foundation for your integrations within Oracle B2C Service, today and in the future.
