Oracle Essbase 26.1 is now available for both Independent Deployment and OCI Marketplace Stack Deployment.
Essbase 26.1 is the current long-term release for existing 21c customers. It provides a path to current supported platforms while preserving the applications, calculations, and analytics workflows they use today.

Essbase 26ai: Deployment options
Independent Deployment suits organizations that need direct control of their installation and environment. With Windows Server 2025 support, customers can move their Essbase environments to a current Windows platform as part of their modernization plans.
OCI Marketplace provides a guided stack deployment experience in OCI. The 26.1 Marketplace release is based on Oracle Linux 9 and introduces a major new capability for AI-assisted Essbase workflows: the built-in Essbase MCP Server.
Built-in MCP Server for Essbase on OCI Marketplace
At Kscope26, the Essbase community showed strong interest in practical ways to connect trusted business models with AI-assisted workflows. Essbase MCP is now available as a built-in, managed capability in the OCI Marketplace deployment.
Model Context Protocol (MCP) provides a standard way for AI clients to discover and invoke approved tools. With the Essbase MCP Server, approved clients can use authorized Essbase tools for data, calculations, outlines, and administration under Essbase authentication.
Essbase MCP lets AI clients work with the governed Essbase model, including its hierarchies, calculations, and security..
The server supports access profiles so customers can align available tools with the appropriate level of access. It also supports OAuth-based connections and a documented MCP endpoint, providing a controlled path for connecting clients such as ChatGPT, OpenAI Codex, and Claude Code.
More ways to simplify deployment and administration
Essbase 26.1 also brings together deployment and usability improvements that help teams plan, deploy, and operate their environments with greater confidence.
- Independent Deployment: The updated installer and configuration experience supports customer-managed deployment planning, including platform certification considerations, out-of-place migration planning, and the transition from legacy EAS-managed application paths.
- OCI Marketplace Stack Deployment: Marketplace provides a guided, repeatable deployment path for the Essbase 26.1 stack. It simplifies provisioning and migration while allowing teams to apply their own requirements for architecture, security, backup and recovery, monitoring, and scale.
- Redwood UI and file management: Enhancements to global navigation, application switching, local-file selection for data loads, job filtering, and bulk file-management actions help streamline day-to-day work for administrators and business users.
From 21c to the latest supported platforms
For Essbase 21c customers, the next steps are clear:

Oracle is planning the next step in Essbase modernization: bringing Essbase to AI Lakehouse. This planned experience will explore a federated multidimensional architecture, enabling Essbase to work with AI Lakehouse data while preserving the trusted semantic models, calculations, and governed analytics that customers rely on today.
