Essbase 21.6 Release Update Features
Essbase 21.6 has been released for OCI Marketplace and Independent deployments. This release includes a new Redwood web interface, application encryption at rest, improved MDX data exports, and improvements to the Federated Partitions feature for integration with Oracle Autonomous Database Warehouse (ADW) on OCI deployments.

Essbase 21c single URL access from SmartView
In Essbase 11g, an Analytical Provider Service (APS) along with multiple Essbase instances could be deployed in the EPM environment. Because they use and share the same security and database schema, a SmartView user could just connect to a single server and have access to all Essbase instances within that EPM environment.
Essbase 21c RCU Database Password Expired
When deploying Essbase 21c on OCI Marketplace or Independent Deployment, an RCU database is configured. This RCU database requires a password, which may expire if configured to do so. If this is the case, the RCU database password needs to be reset.
Using the Google Sheets Add-in to Query Autonomous Database
In an earlier blog we saw how users can easily query the Autonomous Database for analysis using an Excel Add-in. We are excited to announce a similar add-in for Google Sheets. This new add-in will enable users to run native SQL queries and a wizard to query Analytic Views created by the Data Analysis tool.
