Security: An Oracle Solaris Differentiator

Memory Page Size Policy

The default value of the pagesize-policy resource can prevent migration between platforms whose page sizes differ. For how to migrate Oracle Solaris Kernel Zones between platforms whose page sizes differ, see “About Memory Page Size Policy and Physical Memory” in Creating and Using Oracle Solaris Kernel Zones.

GSS-API Credentials

You can use per-session GSS-API credentials for authenticating Secure Shell connections in Kerberos. See “GSS-API Authentication in Secure Shell” in Managing Secure Shell Access in Oracle Solaris 11.3 for details.

Passwordless Public Key Login

Passwordless Public Key login is now supported for Microsoft Active Directory (AD) users. When running with Oracle Directory Service Enterprise Edition (ODSEE) or AD, users can log in with commands such as ssh and sftp without giving a password. See “LDAP Service Module” in Working With Oracle Solaris 11.3 Directory and Naming Services: LDAP.

DAX Support

You can use the daxstat command to report utilization and performance statistics for Data Analytics Accelerator (DAX) on SPARC M7, SPARC M8, SPARC T7, and SPARC T8 systems. See “Displaying Data Analytics Accelerator Statistics” in Managing System Information, Processes, and Performance in Oracle Solaris 11.3 for examples.

For more information about DAX, see “Breaking New Ground with Software in Silicon” and the Oracle Developer Community Software in Silicon site.
