What’s new in the 2024 version of the Certification and the course?

Although the core responsibilities of a developer remain unchanged, the landscape of tools and technologies has evolved significantly. The OCI 2024 Developer Professional learning path has been thoroughly updated to include the latest and most advanced features available on OCI, such as:
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Registry: We have updated our demos for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Registry to align with the redesigned user interface of this service. These new demos provide an enhanced learning experience, showcasing the latest features and navigation changes within the OCIR service.
- Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE): This course now offers extensive coverage of the OKE service, providing training on managing containerized workloads using the latest tools and methodologies. With ~03 hours of new content, the course ensures learners gain comprehensive knowledge of OKE’s enhanced feature set, enabling effective deployment and orchestration of containers within OCI.
- Serverless Functions: The “OCI Functions” module has been completely revamped to offer an in-depth exploration of serverless computing. This module combines theoretical insights with practical demonstrations, enabling learners to build and deploy event-driven applications on OCI efficiently.
- DevOps case study: Explore our new lessons covering a DevOps case study demonstrating the powerful synergy between DevOps methodologies and OCI Cloud native services. Discover how these practices can elevate a static website into a dynamic one through seamless integration of cloud-native development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
In addition to these new service/feature lessons, we have made several other key changes:
- Microlessons and additional demos: The modules have been revamped to offer microlessons, ensuring shorter and easily comprehensible segments. Additionally, more demos have been incorporated throughout these modules, which will help you understand concepts better.
- Introducing our new self-paced Hands-on lab subscription: We’ve added 17 fresh hands-on lab exercises to enhance your practical skills in the course. These labs cover essential concepts from each module. Moreover, we provide a comprehensive student activity guide with step-by-step instructions for immersive learning.
In our OCI self-paced lab environment, each learner receives a dedicated compartment. These compartments come pre-configured with identity and quota policies tailored to the course. This setup allows learners to focus entirely on their exercises without the hassle of adjusting account settings or worrying about unexpected costs. Additionally, Oracle support is available to assist learners with any issues they encounter along the way. - Revised skill checks: The skill checks accompanying each module have undergone an update, featuring a new set of questions. Moreover, to enhance your understanding, the rationale behind each correct answer is now provided, offering insights into the concepts covered.
- Full Practice exam (with real exam like questions): As part of the updates, a brand-new practice exam has been introduced. This practice exam is designed to closely simulate the format and content of the actual certification exam, consisting of 55 questions (50 + 05 Bonus questions) that mirror the complexity and style of the real exam. This allows candidates to gauge their readiness and identify areas for improvement, ensuring they are well prepared to confidently take on the certification exam.
- Updated certification exam pattern: The certification exam has undergone an update to provide a more comprehensive evaluation of your developer skills. The new format consists of 50 questions; the duration of the exam remains at 90 minutes, allowing sufficient time to carefully answer each question. Additionally, the pass percentage has been set at 68%, ensuring a fair assessment of your proficiency in OCI Cloud Native services. These changes in the certification exam format aim to accurately measure your capabilities and validate your OCI Developer skills.
