At Oracle, we know first-hand the challenges our customers face in accessing skilled and certified technology professionals who can drive the next wave of innovation. The digital skills gap is a global reality—and a key factor in enabling countries and companies to compete in today’s fast-moving digital economy.
That’s why Oracle’s Skills Development Initiative (SDI) was created: to empower local talent, bridge skills gaps, and nurture a new generation of technology leaders in Latin America and beyond.
Accelerating Growth Through Local Talent
Working in strategic partnership with governments and leading educational institutions, SDI is investing in the future by equipping professionals, students, on:
- OCI & Cloud Infrastructure
- AI and Generative AI
- Low-Code Development (Oracle APEX)
- DevOps
- Cloud Data Management
- Security
- Cloud Applications Business Processes
To date, more than 13,000 learners in Latin America are building future-ready skill sets through SDI. The backbone of this effort is Oracle MyLearn: our free, scalable, and personalized cloud learning platform designed to prepare talent for practical execution in the real world.
Beyond Education: From Certification to Adoption and ROI
Oracle Customer Success Services (CSS) plays a vital role in closing the loop between learning and business value. CSS supports SDI participants as they transition from the classroom to the workplace, helping organizations and public entities translate new skills into seamless technology adoption, measurable ROI, and transformation at scale.
Transformative Impact, Country by Country
The results of SDI are tangible across Latin America:
- Mexico: In partnership with Tec de Monterrey, one of the region’s premier universities, SDI enables thousands of students to gain Oracle certifications, boosting both employability and local expertise. This initiative is strengthening Mexico’s technology ecosystem and contributing to a projected 20% growth in digital jobs.
- Colombia: Oracle Academy in collaboration with Sapiencia, a government agency in Medellin expands access to AI, cybersecurity, and cloud training for over 2,000 learners in the public sector. This supports Colombia’s ambitions to increase tech productivity by 15% and bolster economic resilience in the years ahead.
- Brazil: A partnership with FIAP University is preparing students for the digital workforce by providing Oracle ERP Cloud certifications focused on SaaS management and critical business processes. These graduates are helping to fill Brazil’s projected need for nearly 800,000 IT professionals, supporting good governance practices and enhancing global competitiveness.
Technology Creates Opportunity—Skills Turn It Into Impact
Oracle’s Skills Development Initiative is more than a training program; it’s a long-term commitment to empowering individuals, driving progress, and shaping future-ready workforces across Latin America.
