
A significant number of our customers are using Oracle Guided Learning to help reduce of errors they have to service and/or amend as an outcome of the varying ability of their business users (employees, customers, suppliers) to populate and follow their business processes. In this post, we look at some examples of what their challenges were and how they resolved them using Oracle Guided Learning.
Example 1: Blocking Expense errors in their tracks
A major electric utility company found a large number of their expense reports were mysteriously getting auto-rejected. Upon inspection, they found that their users were skipping a small but critical field during the expense submission.
- The field wasn’t set as mandatory and no auto-complete validation rules had been applied to prompts users they needed to populate this
- Blank entries triggered back-end rejections, leaving end users unaware
- Finance teams for the most part were not aware of the issues as rejected reports came in as blind spots in expense tracking.
Oracle Guided Learning provided a Validation solution using our Disabled Element and Conditions operator to validate that the field wasn’t blank and contained a specific 5-digit number. A Tip was provided to ensure the end user was able to populate the field with the input as required.

The outcome of this was no more rejected expenses, real-time error prevention and improved data visibility.
Example 2: Cutting errors before they click – Job Requisitions
A healthcare organization faced repeated errors on its Job Requisition page; a simple drop down was causing costly delays in their hiring process.
- Without guidance, users struggled to input the correct drop down
- Each drop down triggered a review cycle, delay and re-work.
Oracle Guided Learning provided a Validation solution using operators and custom smart tips to help orient the user to select the correct drop down. In this situation – a green checkmark populated once the user selected the correct drop-down re-assuring the user of the right step.

This solution reduced errors, accelerated requisition creation, decreased dependency on support teams and enhanced user confidence and satisfaction.
