Announcing the availability of a new Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) 2023 Architect Associate certification course and exam.
We have made significant changes to the Architect Associate course by adding ~20 new lessons and demos, 5 expert tip videos and 20 new labs that you can perform in your own tenancy. With these updates, we have 140 lessons and 104 demos running for a total of ~24 hours, which speaks to the depth in which the core services are covered. OCI Architect Associate certification provides you with a competitive edge in the industry and is one of the most sought-after certifications in OCI, with hundreds of thousands of learners already enrolled.
Who is the OCI Architect Associate course designed for?
The course and certification are designed for Cloud Professionals, Solution Architects, and Solution Design Engineers who want to architect solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. This course is intended for individuals who have at least one year of hands-on experience in cloud computing, working knowledge of distributed systems, and familiarity with general networking concepts.
A sneak peek of the updated course
The course is designed to give you an in-depth understanding of the core OCI constructs – Identity and Access Management, Networking, Compute, Storage, Security & Observability and Management. These core OCI constructs are the building blocks for migrating existing apps or building new apps in the cloud, hence this course is a must have for cloud architects and developers. Let me quickly touch on the changes we made for the 2023 version of this course.

We have re-recorded several new lessons and demos to stay current with the latest features and services:
- In the Identity and Access Management module, we have recorded a new lesson on Organization Management and added a new demonstration on Tag-based Access Control.
- In the Networking section, we have recorded new lessons and demos on FastConnect Deep Dive and Network Path Analyzer.
- In the Compute module, we have added new lessons on GPU Shapes and Confidential Computing.
- In the Storage space, we have added lessons and a demo on File System Replication and Dynamic Performance Scaling. We understand that demonstrations can be very effective at engaging learners, generating interest, and enhancing learner learning.
- The entire Security experience is now divided into three lessons – Operations, Platform, and Data. We have added a new Module on Platform Security, which includes lessons and demonstrations on OS Management, Vulnerability Scanning, Web Application Firewall and OCI Certificates service.
- We moved the Databases coverage to the Architect Professional course. Hence, this course does not feature discussion on Databases and instead focusses on the core constructs in detail.
- Learning by doing is the simple idea that we are all capable of learning more about something when we perform the action. That is why we have designed a new activity Guide with 20 new hands-on labs. The idea here is you get step-by-step instructions and you perform those in your own OCI tenancy.
We have also introduced “Expert Tips” where you will hear from an expertabout tips and tricks to succeed as a Cloud Architect. The subjects here include:
- Tips and Tricks to get maximum out of this course
- As an architect is it must to have a hands-on experience?
- Roles and Responsibilities of Cloud Architect
- Day-to-day challenges faced by Cloud Architects
- How do you get a job as a Cloud Architect?
