Salesforce is retiring the Username Password (Basic Authentication) policy. As a result, Oracle Integration customers using the Salesforce Adapter with Basic Authentication must move to a supported authentication method before Summer ’27.

Attention Oracle Integration Customers Using the Salesforce Adapter
This applies to connections using:
- Salesforce Username Password Policy
Problem Statement
Salesforce will retire the Username Password authentication policy in API versions 31.0 through 64.0 with the Summer ’27 release.
Starting with API version 65.0, the Username Password Policy is not supported. For Oracle Integration–specific guidance, see the Salesforce documentation.
Impact on Existing Integrations
New Salesforce Adapter connections created using API version 65.0 or later will fail when configured with the Username Password Policy.
Required Action
To ensure uninterrupted integration flows, customers must:
- Migrate all existing Salesforce Adapter connections to OAuth-based authentication.
- Use one of the following supported OAuth security policies:
- Authorization Code Credentials
- Resource Owner Password Credentials
- Modify all existing connections to use only these supported OAuth methods.
After switching to OAuth, existing integrations will continue to operate normally.
Refer to the Salesforce Adapter documentation for configuration steps.
