Oracle Academy and Oracle Volunteers strengthened their commitment to building Kenya’s future technology workforce by delivering impactful education and mentorship initiatives that reached students, teachers, and aspiring women leaders across the country.

As part of the International Day of Education celebrations, Oracle Academy and Oracle Volunteers equipped more than 200 students at Alliance High School with practical SQL skills through interactive learning sessions. The educational event introduced participants to the fundamentals of database management and data analysis, helping them build essential technical competencies that are increasingly in demand across industries. The initiative reinforced the importance of digital literacy as a foundation for future careers in technology.

The collaboration also extended beyond the classroom through the Give to Gain initiative, where Oracle Volunteers mentored 40 girls from SHOFCO Girls Leadership Academies. Through career conversations, leadership coaching, and personal development sessions, the volunteers inspired the students to pursue STEM pathways while building the confidence and resilience they need to achieve their academic and professional aspirations.

Recognizing that educators play a critical role in shaping future innovators, Oracle Academy also delivered Java training for teachers and equipped them with the Java environments and additional resources needed to integrate programming into their teaching.

Another milestone was the launch of the first cohort of 30 Zetech University Tech Divas, a flagship program led by Zetech University in collaboration with Oracle Academy and Oracle Volunteers. The initiative marked the beginning of a three-year commitment to empower 100 young women with technical skills, mentorship, industry exposure, and professional development opportunities that will help bridge the gender gap in technology.

Together, Oracle Academy and Oracle Volunteers demonstrated the power of collaboration in transforming lives through education. By investing in students, educators, and young women, the collaboration continues to create pathways to opportunity, enable inclusive innovation, and develop the next generation of technology leaders in Kenya.
