Oracle sponsored Safaricom Decode 3.0, a three-day event with over 5,000 delegates in attendance in March 2025. Safaricom Decode is an annual event that showcases engineering excellence, new technologies, and thought leadership within the Safaricom Engineering Community. This year’s theme was Charting East Africa’s Digital Destiny.
The event was graced by Eng John Tanui MBS, the Principal Secretary for ICT & Digital Economy, who gave a keynote on the role of policy in promoting sustainable smart manufacturing initiatives, highlighting the importance of laying the foundation for a knowledge-driven sector.
Safaricom CEO, Dr. Peter Ndegwa C.B.S, outlined how AI is reshaping customer experience, fraud detection, and new revenue models. He noted that by 2027, 70% of Safaricom customer resolutions will be AI-powered!
Oracle was actively involved in the event, with three panel sessions, two masterclasses, a Youth Career Mentorship Day, and F1 simulation booth. Oracle Academy contributed to panel discussions on evolving workforce and student engagement at the exhibition booth.
