Oracle Academy participated in the 2026 National STEM Mentorship Camp for learners with visual impairments, an initiative organized by Kilimanjaro Blind Trust Africa (KBTA) to expand access to inclusive STEM education in Kenya.
Joining together educators and technology partners at S.A. Thika High School for the Blind, the three-day program created an inclusive environment where learners with visual impairments explored robotics, innovation, and real-world STEM applications through hands-on learning experiences.
The camp aimed to address barriers that often limit access to quality STEM education for learners with visual impairments, including limited exposure to practical learning opportunities and mentorship pathways. Through collaborative activities, mentorship sessions, hackathons, and project-based learning, students were encouraged to explore their potential and envision future careers in technology and innovation.
Oracle Academy supported the program by participating in mentorship activities, innovation engagements, and the final project judging sessions. During the camp, learners worked in teams to develop creative solutions through two project categories: Hackathon projects and STEM Club school-based projects. These projects showcased the students’ problem-solving abilities, teamwork, creativity, and application of STEM concepts to real-world challenges.
Oracle Academy was honored to contribute to an initiative that champions accessibility, innovation, and equal opportunities in STEM education. By supporting learners with visual impairments through mentorship and practical technology exposure, Oracle Academy reinforced its commitment to inclusive education and empowering all learners with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in a digital future.Learn more on accessibility at Oracle Academy
