On July 15, 2026, Oracle Academy joined UNESCO Campus Africa for the Campus Africa Spotlight AI4EAC Innovation Challenge webinar in celebration of World Youth Skills Day 2026. The webinar brought together perspectives on how artificial intelligence is reshaping the relationship between education, skills development, and career opportunities, with a particular focus on preparing Africa’s young people to participate in an increasingly AI-driven economy.
Oracle Academy’s participation reflected Oracle’s ongoing investment in building technology talent pipelines across Africa. Through Oracle Academy, Oracle works with governments, universities, educators, and students to help strengthen computing education and provide learners with the knowledge and practical skills they need to successfully join the future workforce.

The webinar also highlighted the AI4EAC Innovation Challenge, an initiative that provided East African university students with opportunities to apply AI and coding skills to real-world challenges. The first edition engaged students from across eight East African countries, with participants developing solutions addressing areas including education, agriculture, health, and finance.
