Oracle Academy brought educators and students together for Oracle Academy Cloud Day on August 17, 2026, at the CTBE Auditorium, College of Technology and Built Environment, Addis Ababa University, in collaboration with IEEE Ethiopia Section and EdTech East Africa. The event gave educators and students hands-on exposure to cloud technologies and demonstrated how cloud skills can support innovation, employability, and future careers in the digital economy.
Throughout the event, educators and students explored the role of cloud computing in modern technology environments and gained practical insight into how cloud platforms enable organizations to build, deploy, and scale digital solutions. The engagement created an opportunity for learners to connect academic learning with real world applications while strengthening their understanding of technology skills that are increasingly relevant across industries. The session was facilitated by Lorna Juma, Oracle Academy Program Manager, and Michael Muite, Principal Account Cloud Engineer, Oracle.
Oracle Academy Cloud Day also showcased Oracle Academy’s commitment to supporting institutions and educators with resources that help students develop industry relevant knowledge. Through the Oracle Academy Cloud Program, eligible member institutions can access Oracle Cloud resources for teaching and learning, helping educators introduce students to cloud concepts and practical experiences that complement their academic studies.
By hosting Cloud Day at Addis Ababa University, Oracle Academy continued to strengthen collaboration with higher education institutions in Ethiopia and support educators as they prepare their students for a technology driven workforce.
