Oracle Academy Indonesia, in collaboration with Oracle Database Product Management and Binus University, hosted a faculty development workshop titled “Applied Database Systems with Oracle AI Database” at the Binus University, Anggrek Campus in Jakarta, on April 15, 2026.

The event brought together 36 faculty members from 12 universities across Indonesia who teach—or plan to teach—database courses. The workshop focused on helping educators integrate Oracle AI Database into their Applied Database Systems curriculum, supporting the delivery of modern, industry-relevant education.

As demand for AI and data-driven skills continues to grow, Oracle Academy remains committed to evolving its curriculum to reflect current technology trends. Through this workshop, faculty members gained practical insights into how Oracle AI Database can be applied in real-world scenarios, helping bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.

The workshop was opened by Nurul Huda, Oracle Academy Manager for the Southeast Asia region, and led by Deny Nursidiq, Principal Technology Solution & Cloud Architect, Oracle Indonesia, who guided participants through hands-on sessions and real-world use cases. To support the activities, participants used Oracle Cloud accounts registered in regions that provide AI services, while some participants used sandbox environments for selected exercises.

Through the Oracle Academy Cloud Program, Oracle Academy Institutional members and their students can also access Oracle Cloud Free Tier resources, including US$300 in free credits valid for one year, to explore AI services and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure capabilities.

Participants showed strong interest in topics such as Generative AI, Spatial Database, and Select AI, as reflected in the level of engagement, questions, and discussions throughout the sessions. These areas highlight the growing importance of integrating advanced database capabilities into academic curricula.

This initiative reflects the strong and ongoing collaboration between Oracle Academy Indonesia, Oracle Database Product Management, and Binus University in advancing technology education and industry engagement. Oracle Academy extends its sincere appreciation to Binus University for hosting the workshop and providing a supportive environment that fostered learning, innovation, and collaboration among faculty members and students alike.

Sukmana Dasuki Keeng, Program Manager, Oracle Academy Indonesia, shared that the strong enthusiasm and active engagement from faculty members throughout the workshop demonstrated a growing interest in AI-driven database technologies. Seeing this positive response, Oracle Academy Indonesia plans to continue the initiative through future follow-up sessions that will explore the topics in greater depth and further support educators in integrating Oracle AI Database into their teaching.

Through initiatives such as these, Oracle Academy continues to empower educators and broaden access to Oracle technologies across Indonesia. By equipping faculty members with the latest tools, knowledge, and industry-relevant expertise, students are better prepared to develop skills that align with workforce demands and emerging technology trends. These efforts also support the broader objective of increasing the adoption of Oracle technologies while strengthening the pipeline of Oracle-skilled professionals in Indonesia.
