Cloud Manager Image 21 is now available and it focuses on making PeopleSoft environment delivery easier and more predictable. This image introduces new tooling to standardize how environments are provisioned, while also expanding options for efficiently creating and maintaining non-production copies.

Database Templates let you create a source database definition, associate refresh scripts and CUST / APP_HOME locations to be used when creating new environments. Cloud Manager will clone the source database and automatically run your refresh scripts for you. When combined with Environment Templates, Database Templates help reduce variation between builds and make it even easier to create new environments. In this release, Database Templates support the Base Database Service, ADB – Dedicated, and ADB – Serverless platforms.

Image 21 also adds Exascale support and building Thin Clone–based environments. You can now import PeopleSoft environments hosted on the Exascale platform. Exascale supports Thin Cloning – database that will only track block changes and forward all reads to the source database at a specific point-in-time. Cloud Manager makes it simple to create Thin Clone-based environments. Using the Thin Clones refresh flow, you can mark thin clone environments for refresh, select pre- and post-provisioning scripts, and submit the refresh request through Cloud Manager.

Cloud Manager Image 21 added support for notes and change log entries for your environments. You can quickly document information about environments in the Notes section, such as the purpose of the environment, who will be using the environment, or a planned date to remove the environment. The Environment Log allows administrators to add entries and create a history of changes.
